Senior Centers

A senior center is a place where older people can gather to make friends, get support and have fun. These centers can offer a range of opportunities, including computer labs, crafts, card games, fitness classes, crafts, and hobbies, etc. They offer information about the community, including access points for other programs and services. AARP Tax-Aide needs highly dedicated individuals who want to help others and be part of an engaging team. Tax-Aide volunteer counselors learn tax laws and basic tax forms through classroom training and supplemental materials. They provide free information and confidential tax assistance to low- and middle-income seniors. After completing an IRS-certified, open-book exam, volunteers work at Tax-Aide site(s) for a minimum of 40 hours between February 1 and April 15. AARP membership is not required. Volunteering is easy. Call the toll-free number or visit the website and complete the online registration form.
