VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES – Volunteer op-portunities include becoming a foster parent for animals until permanent home is found; driving mobile adoption van; exercising, walking, grooming and socializing with animals; assisting with counseling for adopters; performing daily clerical operations; and outreach and awareness tasks.

SENIOR CITIZEN PET ADOPTION PROGRAM – The Pets for People Senior Adoption Program supports no-fee adoptions of adult animals by senior citizens who would otherwise be unable to enjoy pet companionship. Seniors 60+ may adopt dogs 2 years and older and cats 1 year and older. Seniors must pay the licensing fees.

PET THERAPY PROGRAM (PETS UPLIFTING PEOPLE) – Idaho Humane Society volunteers take shelter dogs to visit assisted living facilities, counseling facilities, and senior centers, giving a chance for residents and clients to spend time with animals that they don’t regularly have access to.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES – Volunteering opportunities include being a “foster parent” for animals until a permanent home is found; assisting with fund raising events; walking and grooming dogs; taking dogs to visit assisted living facilities; providing adoption counseling to new pet owners; and help with daily operations at the Humane Society.
